Sandals Grenada-The Resort
Discovering Sandals Grenada: Grounds & Amenities
Welcome to a resort designed for seamless enjoyment! Formerly known as La Source Grenada Resort (you might still see that name pop up now and then!).
Easy to Explore, Never Crowded (Mostly!) One of the first things you’ll appreciate is how beautifully laid out the resort is. It’s compact enough that you can quickly walk to any amenity, eliminating frustrating long treks, yet expansive enough that it never feels overly crowded. Most of the resort is delightfully flat, making getting around a breeze. However, a crucial note for guests with mobility limitations: the Pink Gin area does feature some pretty steep hills, and we didn’t observe any elevators in these areas.
The Heart of the Resort & Great Connectivity The front desk area serves as the central hub, handling check-ins and hosting the Club Lounge. Nearby, the “Living Room” acts as a vibrant gathering spot, bustling with many of the resort’s daily activities. This central positioning means you’re never far from the action or assistance. Plus, you’ll be happy to know that Wi-Fi throughout the resort was great! We experienced no issues with connectivity, even though we weren’t streaming videos very often, making it easy to stay connected and share your vacation moments.
Distinct Resort Areas, Diverse Stays Sandals Grenada is divided into different “villages” or areas, each offering unique charm and room categories to suit various preferences and budgets. You’ll find distinct vibes in the Beachfront (Pink Gin), South Seas, Italian, and Lover’s Lagoon areas, ensuring you can find the perfect home base for your getaway.
Poolside Perfection or Beachside Bliss The resort features two main pools. The larger, central pool often has a more lively and “roucous” atmosphere, perfect for those seeking energy and fun. If you prefer a more serene experience, the pool closer to the beach was consistently quiet during our visit. While the occasional “chair game” (early morning towel placements) can happen at the pools, we found that seats usually freed up later in the afternoon.
For beach lovers, the Pink Gin Beach is a true gem! This resort features two beaches situated side-by-side, separated by the jetties that extend into the bay. After a brief adjustment to these jetties (which double as excellent snorkeling opportunities!), you’ll find a beautiful and spacious stretch of sand. We never had trouble securing chairs here, no matter the time of day. The gentle waves, courtesy of the jetties, create ideal conditions for swimming, and we loved spotting a variety of marine life – from fish and squid to crabs and an octopus – while snorkeling right off the shore. Plus, grabbing one of the giant yellow water donuts was surprisingly easy!
Dining & Adventure at Your Fingertips Restaurants are conveniently spread throughout the resort, adding to the sense of exploration without ever feeling like a chore. Even a stroll from the farthest Lover’s Lagoon rooms to the coffee shop felt like a pleasant, short walk. For our fellow scuba enthusiasts, a big perk is that the dive boats for excursions depart directly from the resort, right next to the main beach – incredibly convenient!
Evening Ambiance As night falls, the resort transforms. We particularly enjoyed gathering around the numerous fire pits, which provide a fantastic, cozy atmosphere for relaxing and socializing under the stars.
